Post No. 592 – The past and next week, for tonight’s meditation, and reading



This week, it seems that peace may be possible in Ukraine, although that really depends on the details of the ceasefire, which I haven’t had time to go looking for yet (busier than usual week in my day job, although that did include a work trip to northern Tasmania for a HAZOP). Mr Putin remains a person of concern, though, particularly because of his rattling of the nuclear sabre and his concerning mention of Kazakhstan, the borders of which I have now lined with astral thought forms of the rune Thurisaz (amongst other measures).

Now, I’ve looked at this (and other) situations from the point of view of politics and personalities in recent weeks, and what I’d like to write about this week is a broader perspective on this. Before I get on to that, though, I’ve decided to try and come up with a bind rune for thoughtfulness, as not thinking things through properly is a major problem of the Moltkes of the world – as is the insecurity and limited perspective of those sad, sad people who only get a sense of adequacy by jingoistic nationalistic fervour (I’m not entirely sure what bindrune would best address their needs … perhaps maturity and perspective, for a start), and, for that matter, the blindness or short-sightedness of those who are consumeristic.

Now, I’ve been rereading Katherine Kerr’s Deverry series of books, and am getting more out of it (as I tend to do each time I do so). One of the aspects of those books that is particularly relevant to now is the view that there is an interaction between the physical world and the nonphysical realms closest in frequency to the physical – what Ms Kerr refers to as the Inner Planes, a term used in a few metaphysical sources (this author includes some very good notes on where she gets her information on magick from, which I describe as Hermeticism, although some reviewers tend to refer to it as Rosicrucian, possibly because they don’t know of Hermeticism), one that I like as it gets away from the up or down analogy for what we view as changes of frequency. In that series, there is a major event where one of the main characters, Nevyn, sets out to bring peace, and notes eventually a change in the ‘Inner Planes’, with the assistance of another character, Aderyn, who went to the Inner Planes after he died and worked there to heal and balance.

This is also very well described in “The Magickal Battle of Britain”, which I reviewed here. That book covers the real life work of ‘Dion Fortune’ to help the Allies defeat the evil of the Axis powers (Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and the Empire of Japan). The exhaustion of that work is supposed to have contributed to Dion Fortune’s relatively early death, and I can well accept that, given what such work has done to me!

This type of change of the ‘Inner Planes’, or the group mind/soul of humanity is part of what I am trying to achieve at some of my online shrines (see Group Mind of Humanity, Group Mind of Australia, Group Mind of Melbourne, and Group Mind of Parliaments – I quite like the pentagram arrangement of bindrunes I came up for the last-mentioned of these). I can be quite specific in relation to the places I live, but I would not feel comfortable trying to do a shrine for the group mind of some other specific place such as Moscow, Kiev or Donetsk: that, I consider, should be done by people who either live there, or near to there.

I can, however, quite rightly work on the broader state of humanity’s group mind and group soul, and the Inner Planes – as Ms Fortune did during World War Part Two.

I can also ask others to help, which is what these posts are about, and connect to others doing similar work, such the work which came out the channelling about ‘The Nine’ (which is where I got the timing for these weekly meditations from, although I have adapted that on the basis of my experience – see here, here, here, here and here), and the ‘Triangles’ network.

Now, the imagery I work with tends towards direct awareness of energy, rather than the symbology that Ms Fortune uses – all such imagery is personal, anyway (which is a point well illustrated in the Deverry series). The energies associated with emotions and the associated needs for growth on a personal level I’ve written about previously (probably best in my post on changing the personality of oppressors), but I haven’t written about the spiritual growth of large groups - well, not much, at any rate, it would seem :) . However, this is actually what I have been covering with the posts on Spiritual Maturity and Balanced Positivity.

Before I go further, I’d like you, Dear Reader, to peruse the following (I’ll listen to some Beethoven while you read … da da da dum):

As a species, we’ve shown we have the potential to overcome the struggle for basic physical survival and meeting those needs on the base levels of Maslow Hierarchy of Needs (I cannot say we have done this, when so many – billions – in the world still lack for such fundamentals), but we’re now at the point where those attributes we’ve developed and are using threaten to destroy us and this beautiful planet we’ve been allowed to borrow from the future of our descendants. The skills of Spiritual Maturity and Balanced Positivity are, in my view, what we need in order to successfully get through the crises that we’re currently having – political, environmental and fairness crises.

I’ll be keeping that in the forefront of my mind tonight, as I consider:

On other matters, Samoa has hosted a conference on Small Island Developing States, who are going to suffer enormously as the effects of climate change caused by the world’s industrialised nations becomes more pronounced, and a Forum of Small States was held at the UN. See here for more. I am inclining more and more, these days, towards a philosophy along the lines of something like ‘Degrowth’ [2], but for that to be taken seriously, the idiots who teach economists are going to have to completely rethink their aims – which may yet happen, given the dissatisfaction of many young economists after the failures of established economists in relation to the Global Financial Crisis a few years ago (see here and here). All of this makes a book published decades ago (“The Limits to Growth”, published in 1972) and pointing out the common sense limits that you cannot destroy the ecology which supports you, even more . See here, which points out that the predictions made then are being met, and here, for a review of the book and who was behind it [2].

I also see that the UN is still working on peace in Cyprus (here), and elsewhere.

On Monday, International Literacy Day, the UN Security Council will be discussing “Children and Armed Conflict”, “in the Economic and Social Council Chamber, there will be a briefing on Global Anti-Semitism: A Threat to International Peace and Security”, and the Human Rights Council will hold its 27th Session.

There will also be meetings this week on UN missions to Liberia and Haiti, rights to water and sanitation, and trade and development.

Remember what I’ve written about previously, about the way a few well chosen words (or energies) can influence people? These coming events are your - and my – opportunity to try using psychic influence towards a more spiritually loving world.

Today we continue a never-ending journey to bridge the meaning of those words with the realities of our time.  For history tells us that while these truths may be self-evident, they’ve never been self-executing; that while freedom is a gift from God, it must be secured by His people here on Earth.  (Applause.)  The patriots of 1776 did not fight to replace the tyranny of a king with the privileges of a few or the rule of a mob.  They gave to us a republic, a government of, and by, and for the people, entrusting each generation to keep safe our founding creed.

As a final point, there have been a few reclining seat disputes. Personal space is actually a human need. Cramming people into inadequate space may be something you can get away with for a while, depending on how desperate they are, but just as overcrowding in cities will eventually lead to problems, so too will overcrowding on planes.
